I’d recommend all three, and the two books go particularly well together – the history, recent and otherwise, of Eastern Europe is just woefully underrepresented in our notion of 20th Century history and Europe in general. Bloodlands provides the thoroughness Belarus, Ukraine and especially Poland deserve in the larger conversation of Europe since 1945.
