I might be putting the cart before the horse. I may be foolish in wanting the Bears to play an opponent they lost to in the regular season, rather than one they beat. But it’s impossible to ignore that the cards have fallen precisely to provide the Bears with the easiest path possible to the NFC Title Game. A Title Game that could have the Packers coming to Soldier Field in what would be the Midwest’s version of Manifest Destiny.
Speaking of that horse, its name is the Seattle Seahawks – ye of the nadir of the Bears’ season. I’m thinking that Marshawn Lynch – who caused an honest-to-God earthquake in Seattle on Saturday – will have to re-raise on his Tecmo Bowl-style performance, against a much better defense:
